Swedish Massage
The classic full-body relaxation massage, carried out by a professional male therapist at your home or hotel, at a time that suits you. 50% off your first session.
A Swedish massage is a full-body, oil-based session built on long gliding strokes at light-to-medium pressure, designed to relax the whole body rather than work hard on one spot. It is the most widely practised massage technique in the world and the one most people mean when they ask for a relaxation massage. If you have never booked a massage before, this is the session to book first.
At Calming Touch it runs at your home or hotel room in Hyderabad, in 45, 60, 80 or 100-minute formats, carried out by a professional male massage therapist, for women and for couples.
The technique
Five movements, used in sequence across the whole body.
Slow gliding strokes that follow the length of a muscle. They open and close the session and link everything in between.
Muscle is lifted, squeezed and rolled in a steady rhythm. This is the part most people recognise as “the massage”.
Smaller, more concentrated circular work at the points where tension has settled, usually around the shoulder blades and lower back.
Brief, rhythmic tapping. It is used sparingly and left out entirely if you would rather not have it.
Gentle movement of a shoulder, wrist or ankle through its natural range, with no effort on your part.
None of this is fixed. Pressure is checked as the session runs and changed whenever you ask, in either direction.
Session formats
Every format is a full Swedish session; the longer ones simply add concentrated time.
The standard full-body session and the right place to start. Back, shoulders, arms, legs and feet are worked through in sequence at a steady, unhurried pace.
A full 60-minute Swedish session followed by 20 minutes concentrated on the feet and lower legs. Suited to long days on your feet or a lot of standing and walking.
The full-body session plus 20 minutes on the scalp, neck and shoulders. The usual choice for screen work, headaches and tension that sits high in the back.
A condensed version covering the areas you most want addressed. Useful when time is short or when you would rather try the technique before booking a longer session.
The longest format, taking in the full body with extra time given to the scalp and the feet. Nothing is rushed and pressure is revisited as the session goes on.
A single booked block in which one male therapist works with each partner in turn, never both at once. The second person can relax while the first session runs.

Add to your session
Decided when you book, or once the session has already started.
The same Swedish strokes with an aromatic oil blend chosen for how you want to feel afterwards — settled, or clearer-headed.
Extra time on the three areas people most often want revisited, added to the end of a standard session.
More of the session spent on the upper back, shoulder blades and neck, for stiffness that keeps returning to the same place.
An additional block of minutes on whichever area you want more work on, decided once the session has started.
Choosing between techniques
| Swedish massage | Deep tissue massage | |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure | Light to medium | Firm, worked in slowly |
| Covers | The whole body, evenly | Specific areas of tightness |
| Best for | Relaxation, sleep, general tension | Long-standing knots and stiffness |
| Afterwards | Loose and usually sleepy | Looser, sometimes tender for a day |
| First massage? | Yes — start here | Better once you know your tolerance |
If one area has been stubborn for weeks, read about deep tissue massage instead. If it is sleep and general tension you are after, stress relief massage and relaxation massage sit close to this one, and the full list is on our massage services page.
Suitability
Swedish is the technique most therapists start people on. Pressure stays in a comfortable range and nothing about it needs to be endured.
Long hours at a screen settle tension into the neck, shoulders and lower back. Swedish strokes address the whole chain rather than one sore spot.
A slow, rhythmic session late in the evening is one of the more reliable ways to wind the nervous system down before bed.
If deep tissue sounds like more than you want, this is the session that leaves you loose rather than sore.
Couples can book one block and take their sessions in turn, which works well when only one partner has had a massage before.
Hotel-room sessions in Hyderabad run on the same terms as home visits, which suits a long flight or a run of meetings.
How it works
Six steps, from the first message to the end of the session.
Message or call with your preferred date, time and session length. Ask anything you want answered before you commit — that conversation costs nothing.
We confirm the slot and the address, whether that is your home or your hotel room. Bookings can be made at any hour.
Before any work begins, the therapist asks what you want from the session, which areas to concentrate on and which to leave alone, and what pressure suits you.
Swedish strokes are worked through the body in sequence. Pressure is checked as the session goes on and adjusted whenever you want it changed.
You can ask for more or less pressure, skip an area, ask for the room quieter or warmer, or end the session at any point.
A few quiet minutes before you get up, and water rather than caffeine for the rest of the evening, will make the session hold longer.
What to expect
Sessions are with a professional male massage therapist. Conduct is the same in every booking, in a home or a hotel.
The therapist arrives clean and presentable and keeps the working area tidy from start to finish.
Only the area being worked on is uncovered. Your comfort decides what happens, not a fixed routine.
Areas you would rather not have touched are left alone, and saying so at any point in the session is enough.
Calming Touch provides wellness and therapeutic massage. Nothing else is on offer and nothing else will be suggested.
Ask whatever you want about the session, the therapist or how a visit runs before you decide.
Rates depend on the session length and what you want included, so we quote when you enquire rather than publish a fixed price list. Tell us the format you are after and you will have a figure straight away, with nothing added afterwards.
New clients get 50% off their first session. New clients only, one-time offer, subject to availability. It applies to every massage service we offer, this one included.
Our pricing page explains what moves the figure up or down, and what to expect from a home massage covers the practical side of a visit.

Questions
Swedish massage is a full-body, oil-based technique built on long gliding strokes, kneading, friction, light percussion and gentle movement of the joints. It is the most widely practised form of Western massage and the one most people picture when they think of a relaxation massage. Pressure sits in the light-to-medium range, which is why it is usually recommended to anyone booking their first session.
Sixty minutes is the standard full-body session. Eighty and one hundred minute formats add concentrated time on the feet, or the head, neck and shoulders, and a shorter 45-minute session is available when time is tight.
No. Swedish massage is not meant to hurt, and pressure is kept within a range you find comfortable. If anything feels like too much, saying so mid-session is enough — the pressure is adjusted straight away.
Sessions are carried out by a professional male massage therapist. If you would like to know more about how a visit runs before booking, ask before you confirm the appointment.
Yes. A couples booking is a single block in which one therapist works with each partner in turn, rather than two therapists working at the same time. One person takes their session while the other relaxes, then they swap.
In your own home or in your hotel room, anywhere we cover in Hyderabad. Hotel-room sessions run on exactly the same terms as home visits.
Keep the meal before your session light, go easy on caffeine, and allow a few minutes to settle before the therapist arrives. A warm shower beforehand helps, and a quiet room with a bit of space to work in is all that is needed.
Swedish works broadly across the whole body at light-to-medium pressure, while deep tissue works slowly and firmly into specific areas of long-standing tightness. Swedish leaves most people loose and sleepy; deep tissue is the choice when one area has been stubborn for weeks.
Appointments are available 24 hours a day. Late-night and early-morning sessions are booked regularly, so it is worth asking for the hour that actually suits you.
Pricing depends on the session length and what you want included, so it is quoted when you enquire rather than listed as a fixed rate. New clients get 50% off their first session — new clients only, one-time offer, subject to availability.
We cover Gachibowli, Madhapur, Hi-Tech City, Kondapur, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Secunderabad and most other parts of the city. If your locality is not listed, ask — it is usually still within reach.
No. Calming Touch provides professional wellness and therapeutic massage services only. Sexual or erotic services are not offered.
A Swedish massage includes long gliding strokes, kneading, friction, light percussion and gentle movement of the joints, worked across the whole body with oil. A standard session covers the back, shoulders, arms, legs and feet in sequence, at a steady pace rather than concentrating on one spot. Pressure stays in the light-to-medium range, and you can ask for more or less time on any area before the session starts or while it is running.
You undress only to the level you are comfortable with, and many people keep their underwear on. Only the area being worked on is uncovered at any point; everything else stays covered for the whole session. You decide what you are comfortable with before anything begins, and you can change your mind during the session.
There is usually no difference: what most people call a normal or regular massage is Swedish massage. Swedish is the defined technique behind it, with a set sequence of movements worked across the whole body, whereas a general massage may simply be whatever the therapist chooses to do. Booking a Swedish or relaxation session means booking that defined sequence rather than leaving it open.
For general stress and desk-bound tension, once or twice a month suits most people. If you are working on one problem area, a tighter run of weekly sessions for a few weeks and then spacing them out is the more common pattern. There is no single correct answer, so go by how long the benefit actually lasts for you rather than by a rule.
About a week is a sensible gap when the same area has been worked at firm pressure. A lighter relaxation session can be taken more often than that, and if an area is still tender from the last visit, leave it longer before going back to it.
Yes, weekly massage is fine for most people, particularly at light to medium pressure. Weekly deep tissue work on the same area is more than most people need, so alternating a firm session with a lighter one is usually the better pattern.
It is worth it if you want one area addressed rather than the whole body. Half an hour is enough for the back and shoulders, or the legs and feet, but not for full-body work at an unhurried pace. Our shortest session is 45 minutes, which covers the areas you most want seen to.
No. A massage session is one-way: the therapist works and you receive the treatment. If you want to show where something hurts, pointing or guiding their hand to the spot is welcome and genuinely useful. Anything beyond that ends the session.
